Self Defense Seminar

 This is a great hands on course with important information and training to help lessen your chances of being a victim of attack. Instructing the next course is Mr. John Van Zile and Ms Jackie Smoktonowicz.  Both are very qualified and informed instructors.  Participants are recommended to be 13 and older due to the nature of the material covered. Next course available is being offered through the Healing Arts Institute in Perrysburg, Ohio.  Self Defense I is February 11 9:00-2:00, Self Defense II is February 25, 9:00-1:00 (must have completed 1 to register for II).  To Register call the Healing Arts Institute at 419-874-4496

 

6th Annual "Art" of Taekwon-do Seminar

On February 17-18, Master Robert N. Wheatley will be back in Sylvania to lead our annual black belt testing and Seminar.  Master Wheatley is not only an 8th degree black belt with over 35 years of experience, he is also President of the United States International TaeKwon-Do Federation, Head of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation promotions board, as well as the Head of Ireland and France's International TaeKwon-Do Federation National organizations.  He is recognized around the world for the quality of his TaeKwon-Do seminars.  we are privileged to have him come to Sylvania to instruct and teach us.  Please set this day(s) aside and make it a priority.  He is able to maintain the attention of even the youngest of martial artists.   Saturday morning, Master Wheatley will conduct our black belt test.  Testing candidates include Mr. John Van Zile for 5th degree, Ms. Smoktonowicz for 3rd degree, and Mrs. Badger, Mr. Ford, Rana Youssef, Sara Youssef, and Adam Youssef for 1st degree black belt.  Registration form can be found on registration page.

Summer Camp 2011

   Summer Camp 2011 was a great time for all involved. Pictures of the camp shown below.  Watch next spring for camp times during the summer of 2012!

Tentative Summer Camp dates being considered Camp I  June 11-15; Camp II July 23-27  Watch for more details  Minimum participants 10, Maximum 20

Camp runs from 9:00-12:00 Monday through Friday.  The students do a variety of activities to help improve their taekwon-do skills as well as work on their rank requirements.  There are snacks, t-shirt, fun games, special contests and prizes.  All ages and ranks encouraged to come.  New students to taekwon-do are welcome.  This is a great introduction to Taekwon-do.  No commitments required to participate.
